Known to be one of Melbourne's hardest-working live bands, Headhunters are comprised of Bassist Tory Giamba, Drummer Glenn Roche, and Guitarist Marcelo Machado and Lead Singers / Hosts Julia Sandel and Cassandra Vlahos.
Coming from a range of varied backgrounds and with experience in the industry, the band has developed an unrivalled stage presence.
The band has been performing in several different venues both in Melbourne and all over Australia such as Moon Dog Wild West Footscray, The Penny Black Brunswick, The Commercial Hotel South Morang, The Provincial Hotel in Fitzroy, Shotkickers Thornbury, Stay Gold Brunswick, Globe Alley CBD (RIP), Blue Moon Bar CBD (RIP), The Gasometer Hotel Collingwood, The Mersh Yarraville (RIP), Prince Bandroom St Kilda, Max Watts CBD, The Zoo Brisbane (RIP), Coolangatta Hotel Gold Coast, Lucky 13 Moorabbin and many more.
The band has toured Australia as the backing band for Silverback Touring’s Icons & Legends Bon Jovi Show in 2021 together with The Voice 2020 stars.

Meet Your Host - JULIA
Julia Sandel, known professionally as Julia G, is an Australian singer whose powerful vocals and emotive performances have captivated audiences nationwide. Hailing from Melbourne, she gained widespread attention with her breathtaking rendition of Pink Floyd’s “The Great Gig in the Sky” during her blind audition on The Voice Australia Season 13 in 2024. Her performance showcased her remarkable vocal range and emotional depth, earning her acclaim and a growing fan base.
Beyond her television appearance, Julia G has been active in the Australian music scene, sharing her talent through various platforms. Her YouTube channel features a collection of performances that highlight her versatility and passion for music. Cassandra Vlahos is a powerhouse Australian Musician that has been igniting stages with her fierce blend of classic rock energy and modern flair.
With a commitment to authentic musicianship and a passion for live performance, she continues to push boundaries, now as the front woman for Headhunters Live Band, both as Lead Singer and Live Band Karaoke Host, captivating audiences and inspiring a new generation of Rock enthusiasts.
Cassandra draws inspiration from icons like Orianthi, Nancy Wilson, and Def Leppard’s Steve Clark, infusing her playing with both technical prowess and emotive depth.
Tory Giamba - Bass and Vocals
Tory Giamba is a seasoned Australian bassist renowned for his dynamic presence in the symphonic metal scene. He showcased his versatility with acts like Carmeria and serves as dep bassist for the iconic Pseudo Echo. His ability to craft bass parts that are both foundational and expressive underscores his reputation as a vital force in Australia’s live music scene.
Glenn Roche - Drums and Vocals
Glenn Roche is a dynamic Australian drummer celebrated for his electrifying performances and inventive spirit. Based in Melbourne, he has showcased his versatility across genres, from progressive rock to reggae. Roche’s drumming is characterized by intricate rhythms and a flair for showmanship, exemplified by his custom-built rotating drum riser inspired by Neil Peart! His solo performances, such as those at the Ultimate Drummers Day Weekend Expo, highlight his commitment to pushing the boundaries of rhythm and performance art. Beyond his musical endeavors, Roche is also an inventor, continually seeking to enhance the drumming experience through innovative equipment design. His contributions have solidified his reputation as a trailblazer in Australia’s music scene.
Marcelo Machado - Guitars and Vocals
Marcelo Machado is a Brazilian-born, Melbourne-based guitarist renowned for his electrifying stage presence and masterful guitar tone.
Drawing inspiration from legends like Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Tony Iommi, and Eddie Van Halen, Marcelo brings a fierce, high-voltage energy to every performance. He’s the mastermind behind Melbourne’s iconic Headhunters Live Band Karaoke, where he fearlessly delivers blistering solos and tight rhythms, allowing fans to step into the spotlight as rock stars. Marcelo has become a staple in Australia’s rock scene, known for his technical prowess and charismatic performances.
He has toured in different roles with Guitar Gods such as Yngwie Malmsteen and George Lynch, and international artists such as White Lion, Buckcherry, Fozzy, Black Flag, Candlebox, H.E.A.T (SWE), Janet Gardner, Tyketto, Jetboy, Pretty Boy Floyd, Faster Pussycat, Eclipse, Enuff Z’ Nuff, TUFF, Stryper, Wednesday 13, Atreyu, Nervosa (BRA), Burning Witches to name a few..
He also works as Tour and Production Manager for the legendary Pseudo Echo and does casually work for The Superjesus.
